Dennis Roskosch will present the results of joint work with Niklas Nolzen and Florian Baader on technologies and strategies to decarbonize the steam supply of the chemical industry.
In this study, we analyze the potential of direct electrification, e.g., via heat pumps and hydrogen-based technologies for decarbonizing process steam generation. The analysis comprises technology development and integration into the energy system of an archetype chemical park. It provides insights for plant design and the technology development necessary for industrial process steam generation.
