Machine Learning for advanced characterisation and design of battery electrodes

Dr. Sam Cooper will give a talk with the title "Machine Learning for advanced characterisation and design of battery electrodes" as part of our EPSE Seminar Series. It will take place on March 20th, 2023 from 17.15-​18.30 h at the ETH Zurich main building, auditorium HG E 5.

Abstract
Dr. Sam Cooper is an associate professor in the Dyson School of Design Engineering at Imperial College London, where he leads the TLDR group (Tools for Learning, Design, and Research). In this talk he will explain the various microstructural characterisation and analysis method developed by his team, including some novel machine learning approaches. He will also propose a work flow for optimising the manufacturing parameters of these materials that uses generative adversarial networks and Bayesian optimisation.
